New York Jets rookie quarterback Mark Sanchez tracked down NFL legend Joe Namath before the game looking for a pep talk and some pointers. What the NFL Hall of Famer told him had a very beneficial effect. Sanchez looked very decidedly not like a rookie as he threw for 272 yards and a touchdown against one interception. More importantly, the Jets easily beat the host Houston Texans 24-7.
NFL sports betting enthusiasts who took the Jets as +4 road underdogs cashed their tickets with the outright win. New York improved to 10-8 ATS as an underdog over the past three NFL seasons.
After the game, Sanchez recounted what Namath had told him in their pregame conversation:
“What a pep talk. That was Joe Namath, just taking all the credit from himself and throwing it back to me and just saying, ‘Good luck.’ To hear that from a legend like that, it just kind of gives you the chills. It was something special to be a part of, an emotional start, an emotional little pep talk.”
For his part, Namath said he wasnt surprised:
“No, I was hopeful and I’m satisfied more than I thought I’d be. His offensive line did a hell of a job, but he did a great job of finding time with his feet, just to move subtly … I don’t doubt even a little bit that he doesn’t have poise at this stage.”
The Jets defense also had a great afternoon. New York outgained Houston 462-183, and the Texans made it past midfield only once in the first three quarters. The Jets run defense was particularly stifling, holding Steve Slaton to just 17 yards on the ground. Afterwards, Slaton was at a loss for an explanation:
“It’s just insane. You work for six months leading up to this first game. You have all offseason to prepare for this game and then to come out and play like that is upsetting.”
Texans coach Gary Kubiak took the blame for his teams poor showing:
“The offensive football team gave us no chance and that starts with me. There’s nobody that can feel anything good coming out of this football game.”
Houston will start from scratch on Sunday as they travel to Nashville to face the Tennessee Titans. The Titans are a -6 home favorite with the total set at 40. The Jets will play their next two games at home, beginning this weekend against the New England Patriots. New York is +4 home underdog to the Pats, with the total set at 47.

A lot of computer users ask if they should be using registry cleaners or not. Many computer technical experts say yes. They believe it is a good practice to employ a registry cleaner on various occasions. They think that computers will operate more efficiently once the registry is used.
Your computer registry tracks your system in general. This means your computer settings and hardware configuration. If also tracks the computer user preferences, association files, and the computer software. In addition, the registry tracks the system relationship between hardware and software applications.
The reason you should use software to clean your registry is because the computer configuration settings can become a tangled mess of design and engineering over time. This results in a computer that runs slower and less reliably than when you first took it out of the box. It is common for the computer registry to build in size over a period of time.
The result could be an unstable computer. If your computer takes longer than normal to start up, your system might need to be cleaned. Some feel their computer runs faster after a registry cleaning. Of course the process of cleaning your registry is a very complicated process, but you are probably only interested in getting your computer to run faster rather than understanding all the technical processes involved.
No matter the registry cleaning software you use, make sure to back up your system before you start the cleaning process. Many cleaning software have a backup system function. Before you do anything back up your system. The registry is a very sensitive component of your computer.
If you accidentally remove the wrong key from your system, you might not be able to reboot your computer and you will have to restore the whole system. You will be find various registry cleaning software online, some are free to use, while some you have to pay for. Some programs do more than simply clean your registry.
If you need to free up space on your hard drive, you can do so by deleting temporary files. Some people like to leave their recycle bin intact in case they need to recover a file they deleted. But you can safely empty your recycle bin if you know you no longer need the files in the bin.
Read the reviews on all of the registry cleaners you are considering using. The reviews will give you an idea of how effective a particular program is and if a non technical person should use it, or if it should be used only by those who have computer knowledge. If you know someone who is a computer expert, ask his advice on which software to use to clean your computer registry.
When it comes to cleaning unneeded programs on your hard drive, it’s critical to get software known as registry cleaners. You can read our registry cleaners reviewed and see which ones work the better. You will find what your looking for.

A very old form of poker still popular today because of its standard, familiar structure is 7-card stud. It attracts a major following in both casinos and Friday night home poker parties. Depending on the region of play, the rules of stud may be altered slightly, but all will have the rule of a maximum of seven players per table due to the fact that a deck contains only 52 cards, also the dealer is allowed to burn 4 in the course of a game. There are less rounds for betting so it is not unusual to find house rules include an ante or pre-flop requisite bet to elicit more hand participation as well as add more complexity to the game.
If you play holdem exclusively, you will have to learn a new strategy to play 7-card stud. Any one new to the stud games should carefully observe games as they are played and learn well the rules and strategies of betting before even thinking of sitting at the table to play a round or two. Learning strategies of stud as well as other forms of poker will always add to the enjoyment (and profitability) of any form of the game.
7-Card Stud Betting Structure
The deal commences by dealing two cards face down and one face up to each player. Round one begins in a clockwise direction beginning with the holder of the highest hand (at this point, the top hand would be two aces). The following three rounds are dealt with the cards face up while the final card is dealt face down, which takes us to the highest scoring 5-card showdown hand. Betting rounds do occur between each deal, though the Mississippi form may feature just four rounds of betting and two cards are dealt at the same time for the final deal.
Some 7-Card Stud Strategy
All players must ante in most of the stud games while some go so far as to demand that the player with the lowest scoring hand in round one plays a “bring in” i.e., place a forced bet. Each player receives three cards, two up and the “bring in” player bets first. If there is a tie for the lowest hand, the suit becomes the tiebreaker. At this point the players can choose to bet, fold or raise to the limit the house allows.
Now comes another card and another round of betting, starting with the player again with the highest scoring hand, which at this point in the game can be no higher than three aces. In all subsequent rounds, the player with the highest visible cards can choose to either bet or check to kick off the round. After all cards are dealt, the players will arrange their hands in the order of two down cards, four up cards and one card down.
Similar to Holdem and Omaha poker traditional play, the player with the highest ranking 5-card hand is the winner. Stud is a little unusual in that it does not have a community card pile and the cards in each hand are not all hidden. As is the rule in traditional games, a Royal Flush is at the top of the card combination ranking with the usual assortments ranked in the order of highest to lowest: straight flush, four of a kind, full house, flush, straight, three of a kind, pair with high cards bringing up the rear. An appropriate betting strategy uses as its foundation hand strength, close attention to opponents betting patterns and face up cards and a fine sense of the size of the pot.
